Seneca Block, MT-BC
Seneca Block is a board certified music therapist within University Hospitals Connor Integrative Health Network. He is currently working on the implementation of music therapy into standard health care models including both general medical and psychiatric settings.
With a history of clinical training within institutions including Horizons for Homeless Children, Tufts Medical Center and Mclean Psychiatric Hospital-the Harvard psychiatric training school, Seneca received his bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA along with a minor focus on psychology.
Currently, his specialization is the implementation of music technology within daily music therapy practice, harnessing over a decade of expertise as a live sound engineer and stage manager. Most notably, Seneca has designed and created a ground breaking and nationally recognized mobile recording studio at UH’s Regional hospitals, allowing the creation of professional quality recordings of patient therapy sessions, in turn providing them with an actualization of sessions and offering a means of coping outside of the treatment.
Outside of clinical work, Seneca is a performing musician and is always working to create an artful balance between expert quality musicianship and evidence based clinical practice.
