Qigong Can Reduce Stress, Increase Vitality and Build Stamina

University Hospitals Connor Integrative Health Network offers the practice of Qigong. Qigong pronounced Qi (chee) gong originates from China and dates back over 5,000 years. It is also said to be the precursor to acupuncture. Qigong views any pain, or sickness, emotional or physical to be caused by energy blockages within the energy channels and/or organ systems.

What is Qigong?

Qigong is actually comprised of two words. "Qi", meaning energy or life force and "gong", meaning work or practice. Together Qigong is a life energy practice. It is composed of gentle physical movements, breathing and mind intention.

To gain more energy and restore the energy systems of the body one must learn not only how to conserve the energy they have, but also how to gather and increase their own energy-this is the process of Qigong. Our energy is changing all the time, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Qigong can help your energy to transform for the better.
